About Us
Who We Are
Keen On Education is a free, family-friendly platform focused on helping first graders build strong math skills through playful, hands-on learning at home. We offer easy-to-use activities that align with what kids are already learning in school—designed to support, not replace, classroom instruction. Our mission is simple: to make math meaningful, joyful, and accessible for every child.
Meet the Founders
Phillip Keen is a passionate advocate for inclusion and kindness. As an individual with special needs, he brings heart, insight, and care to everything we create. His experiences—especially volunteering with young learners—have shaped the fun and accessible activities on our site. Daniel Comer is a life coach and web designer who began working with Phillip in 2016. Inspired by Phillip’s love of learning, Daniel partnered with him to build Keen On Education—a place where all children can grow with confidence and support.
Our Story
Keen On Education began in a local gym, where Phillip and Daniel first worked together. Over nearly a decade, their connection grew into a creative collaboration built on trust, purpose, and a shared love of learning. What started as a small idea is now a growing resource for families across the country, offering first-grade math support that’s fun, engaging, and grounded in care.
Our Mission
To give families the tools they need to support first-grade math learning at home—through activities and joyful discovery.
Our Values
Accessibility – Every child deserves free, high-quality learning tools.
Inclusivity – We support all learners, including those with special needs.
Playfulness – Learning is most powerful when it’s fun and hands-on.
Connection – Families thrive when learning becomes a shared experience.
What We Offer
We provide a growing collection of free first-grade math activities that can be enjoyed at home. Our resources are simple, engaging, and thoughtfully aligned with what kids are learning in school—offering meaningful support without overwhelming busy families.
Beyond the Screen
Daniel and Phillip are also the creators of Adventures in Kindville, a children’s book series about kindness, friendship, and emotional growth. They’re now working on a new story-based series that brings first-grade math to life with memorable characters and playful adventures—helping kids see math as part of a bigger, exciting story.
Looking Ahead
Keen On Education is just getting started. As we grow, we’ll keep building creative tools that help families everywhere feel more confident supporting their children’s learning. From North Carolina to wherever you are, we’re here to make early math joyful and accessible for all.
